Hospital Update- Day 9

For some reason, every morning Karis’ oxygen saturation levels have been taking a nose dive.  She doesn’t seem in distress, her levels just drop inexplicably.  This afternoon she has perked right back up and is resting at close to 100% (healthy people walk around with an O2 Sat of 97-100%).  These weird episodes have been just enough to keep her in the hospital.  We took another chest x-ray this morning and there is a slight increase of fluid in her left lung, but the nurse practitioner explained that the road to recovery isn’t going to have little bumps along the way, but it doesn’t mean she’s not getting better.

Karis is continuing to give little coughs, but she would get better so much more quickly if she would cough more.  Please pray for supernatural strength in her precious little body to allow her to cough.

Finally, our family needs some prayer against spiritual warfare.  According to Ephesians 6:12 “We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”  I think Satan has realized that he is not going to win the pneumonia battle and is aiming his flaming darts from other directions.  The rest of Ephesians 6 goes on to describe how we should “take up” the whole armor of God.  Please pray that we would do so, so that we would stand firm in this trial and that above ALL, God would be glorified.

Praying for strong, productive coughs and that Karis could come home soon. I know that you all are so weary. “And do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10
